Types of Implants

After losing a tooth, it is paramount to get a replacement as soon as possible. Fortunately, you can pay a visit to Leading Edge Oral Surgery to see if a dental implant is right for you. Our experienced dental team will go over all your restorative options with you, and that includes seeing if you just need a standard implant or a different variety. The difference could mean a huge improvement in your oral health for years to come.

A single implant is the most common restoration given. It replaces a single missing tooth by placing the implant itself into the jawbone and adhering a crown or bridge on top. Since the crown or bridge is attached directly to the implant, it is unnecessary to alter any of the surrounding teeth. Additionally, our team will customize your restoration so that it will blend in perfectly with the rest of your smile.

In the event a patient has lost several teeth next to each other, then our team will likely recommend multiple dental implants. The same process as before occurs where one implant goes into the jawbone and then a bridge or denture is adhered on top. Through these methods, our dentist can fill in for up to three or four teeth simultaneously.

Full Arch

A full arch dental implant is your best bet when you have lost most or all of the teeth in a single arch in your mouth. A denture is adhered on top, which provides for much greater stability than when a denture is loose. Most patients will only need between two and four implants inserted into the jawbone arch to support the full structure.
